Are arctic wolves basically just white gray wolves?
I know that arctic wolves are shaped a little differently than typical gray wolves, and they live in different regions for the most part, but are they really just white gray/timber wolves? There are only two species of wolves, the red and the gray. So... I'm confused... A little help?
Actually, there are 3 species of wolf - you missed the Ethiopian wolf (Canis simensis). But yes, arctic wolves are grey wolves (Canis lupus), they're just a subspecies (C. l. arctos) in which all individuals are white. In other subspecies, wolves can be various colours, but it's quite rare to find a completely white one outside the arctic subspecies.
